This week we decided to change the drive base with a complete redesign of the robot named X1-B. The complete redesign now features compliant front wheels that are able to collect blocks much faster. The robot will also feature faster motors, which have a gear ratio of 20:1. This gives the robot a good combination of speed and torque. We also decided to add a touch sensor to automatically disengage the motors that collect the blocks when it has collected one. Overall, the robot has changed in many ways this will make it more difficult to program but it will overall be a better robot.
